Blerp Visual Alert Working but No Sound? Here's What to Check

If you can see the visual animation of an alert but aren't hearing the sound, it can be frustrating, especially during a live stream. Fortunately, there are several ways to troubleshoot and resolve this issue. Here's what you can do to ensure both the visual and sound of your alerts work correctly.

1. Check Your Windows Audio Settings

Start by verifying that your Windows audio settings are set up properly:

  • Open the Volume Mixer: Right-click on the speaker icon in your taskbar and select "Open Volume Mixer."
  • Check OBS Volume: Make sure the volume for OBS is not muted or too low. Drag the slider to ensure it's loud enough for you to hear.
  • Correct Output Device: Ensure your output device (headphones or speakers) is correctly selected as the main audio source in Windows.

2. Review OBS Audio Settings

Next, take a look at your OBS audio settings to ensure everything is configured correctly:

  • Correct Output Device: Double-check that your desired audio output device (e.g., headset or speakers) is selected in OBS. Go to Settings > Audio, and confirm the device is set to your default audio output.
  • Browser Source is Unmuted: Within OBS, check that the Blerp browser source isn't accidentally muted. Right-click on the source, click Properties, and ensure that the source is unmuted and the volume is at an appropriate level.

3. Enable "Control Audio via OBS"

For more control over your audio, make sure the "Control Audio via OBS" option is enabled:

  • Browser Source Settings: Right-click your Blerp browser source, click on Properties, and ensure that "Control audio via OBS" is checked. This allows you to manage the audio within OBS itself.
  • Monitor and Output: Navigate to Advanced Audio Properties by right-clicking on your audio mixer, and set the audio monitoring for your Blerp source to “Monitor and Output.” This setting ensures you can hear the sound and that it gets sent to your stream as well.
